Why do bipolar people stop taking meds, especially when medication is one of the best ways to treat bipolar disorder? I’ve stopped taking my bipolar medication before, and it wasn’t always with my doctor’s approval. Around 40–50% of people with bipolar disorder stop taking their meds at some point.
